Theological
Faculty «Matija Vlačić Ilirik», located in Zagreb, was founded by Lutheran
Church and Baptist Union. In 1976., Faculty began its work on Reformation
Day – October 31. Named after the most distinguished Croatian Protestant
theologian, Theological Faculty «Matija Vlačić Ilirik» serves primarily
to Reformation churches and to churches of Reformation heritage, and
it extends continuity of Reformation theological idea. Except for education
of pastors and theologians, Faculty aims at promotion of general theological
understanding within Croatian society, research and promotion of the
idea of ecumenism, human rights and Christian peacemaking, and at establishing
a network relationships of Croatian theologians with distinguished theological
institutions and individuals in the world. Since May 2001. Faculty has
the licence for providing higher education as a private religious institution.
